Wool is the best book I have read in 2013. I wasn't interested in reading another dystopian novel but a fellow bookseller said "You have to read this! I am not telling you anything else about the story." I am glad she didn't and I am going to tell readers the same thing. You have to read this!

— Justin, Atlanta

I thought I knew where the title came from. Was it because they used wool to clean the lens to the outside or was it because everyone had wool pulled over their eyes? I never figured it out and I guess in the end it doesn’t matter, maybe it’s a little of both. Set in the future, the Earth has been left uninhabitable. The only way to survive is to live underground in a Silo. There is no sunlight and the only view of the earth is through some cameras positioned outside. The only way to keep the camera lens clean is for someone to clean it. In the future punishment for any crime determines that you get put out, oh and while you’re there, clean the lens. This book will grip you from page one, but be forewarned, don’t get too attached to anyone, they are not guaranteed to survive. Our heroine is Juliette, a mechanic turned hero. Follow Jules on her adventures through the silo where all is not what it seems. Any fans of science fiction or dystopian novels will love this series. Jules is a grade A badass!

Description

For suspense-filled, post-apocalyptic thrillers, Wool is more than a self-published eBook phenomenon―it’s the new standard in classic science fiction.

In a ruined and toxic future, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside.

His fateful decision unleashes a drastic series of events. An unlikely candidate is appointed to replace him: Juliette, a mechanic with no training in law, whose special knack is fixing machines. Now Juliette is about to be entrusted with fixing her silo, and she will soon learn just how badly her world is broken. The silo is about to confront what its history has only hinted about and its inhabitants have never dared to whisper. Uprising.

A New York Times and USA TODAY bestseller, as well as Kindle Book Review’s 2012 Indie Book of the Year, the self-published eBook blockbuster Wool will now be available in paperback from Simon & Schuster.
