PATRICIA CORNWELL

Patricia Cornwell is an American crime writer and author of the “Scarpetta” series. Kay Scarpetta is a medical examiner who uses her forensic knowledge to solve murders and mysterious cases. Cornwell’s own experience in the field provides a high amount of detail and credibility to her work. Having over 20 books in the series already, Cornwell has won numerous awards, including the Gold Dagger Award, the RBS Thriller Award, the Sherlock Award, and more. Cornwell has written a few books outside of the “Scarpetta” realm, including the “Andy Brazil” series, “Win Garano” series, a couple of cook books inspired by Kay Scarpetta, and a nonfiction work Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper.
